Description
Dog Breed: Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler. Harley is the happiest, friendliest dog you'll ever meet! She’s an affectionate cuddlebug who loves attention, belly rubs, and being part of the action. Whether it's a neighborhood walk, a game of fetch, or just lounging on the couch, Harley is all in. She’s playful, social, and full of love. While she can get bouncy with excitement, she responds well to gentle corrections. Harley is fully house-trained and doing well with crate training — getting more comfortable with her crate every day. She doesn't need a fenced yard but enjoys being outside on a leash or long cable, especially for fetch sessions. She’s not a flight risk and typically comes when called in off-leash environments. She’s moderately vocal — she'll bark when you leave or when she wants to play — but she’s non-destructive when alone and settles quickly. She prefers being near her people but is learning to enjoy time on her own too. If you're looking for a fun-loving best friend with a heart full of love (and a soft spot for belly rubs), Harley could be the one for you. If you are interested in Harley, fill out an application at this link to get the ball rolling - pethavenmn/adopt/adoptable-dogs/dog-adoption-application/ The adoption fee is $450. Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
