Sweet little Angel might be your perfect match! Angel is a 6-year-old black and tan smooth-coat Dachshund weighing 12.5 pounds. She’s a very clever girl with a gentle, affectionate nature and loves nothing more than curling up with her humans, enjoying belly rubs, and snoozing under a cozy blanket. Mild-mannered and generally quiet, Angel is happiest when she has her favorite people nearby. Environment Angel is fully potty trained, leash trained, and will let you know when she needs to go outside. She does very well on walks, loves trips to the park, and is excellent in the car—even on long drives. While she’s crate trained, Angel much prefers sleeping in bed with her humans or relaxing on a comfy pillow. She’s learning to use ramps and is not destructive in the home. Because Angel can bark when left alone, she isn’t suited for apartments or homes with shared walls. She would thrive in a quieter environment with adults present most of the time. A fenced yard would be wonderful, though she’s also happy with regular walks instead. Pets and People Angel has a high prey drive and is not a match for homes with cats or other dogs. Due to negative past experiences, she must be the only pet in her new home. She does best with adults and hasn’t been around teenagers, so we recommend an adult-only household. With her people, Angel is deeply affectionate, very trainable, and loves attention—though she may show that love with lots of kisses! Health Angel is in excellent health. She recently had a dental cleaning, and has no ongoing medical needs. She eats both wet and dry food, drinks well without assistance, and has no issues with mobility. Location Angel is available for adoption from Staten Island, NY and loves car rides, so she’s ready to travel to meet her new family.
