Every morning she greets her people and dog friends with the most adorable “happy dance” and shows off her signature smile, complete with a charming little underbite. Happy adores other dogs, though she needed some time to learn how to share toys when she first arrived in her foster home. She’s equally wonderful with people and would thrive in a home with older children who can understand her needs. Since she’s deaf, her foster family wakes her gently using scents—American cheese is her favorite alarm clock! On leash, Happy surprises everyone—she’s the slowest walker you’ll ever meet. At just 9 months old, she shuffles along like a sweet senior pup with arthritis. She never pulls, though sometimes she decides she’s just not moving. What she does love, though, is soaking up the sunshine and spending hours relaxing outdoors. Happy is a smart girl who has already learned “sit,” “come,” and “no.” Crate training has been a challenge, but she’s made huge progress. Now, she sleeps through the night peacefully and settles quickly during the day. She’s also a total comedian. From her hilarious piggy grunts and owl-like screeches to her antics with vegetables—watching her toss broccoli and green beans around the room is guaranteed entertainment—Happy will keep you smiling every day.
