Dog Breed: Chihuahua / Mixed (short coat). Adoption Fee: 550. Annie is a total doll! She is a wonderful mix of spunk and sweetness. Annie loves to initiate play with the resident dog and her brother. She loves to chase and be chased by the children and the dogs. One of her favorite things is finding a stick and playing tug-o-war with her brother. When play time is over, Annie loves to snuggle up with her brother or a bigger stuffed toy and blanket. If a lap is available, even better! Annie knows how to cuddle with the best of them. She actually loves to climb onto a lap if someone sits near her. The flip side of Annie’s spunk is that she can be a little messy. She needs a food and water bowl that can’t be flipped over easily. She has also learned she can pull the towel or mat under the bowls to make a mess also. She is doing great with crate training. She is crated during the night and has been doing well until morning. When she hears movement in the house, she has an adorable little whine to let you know she’s awake. Annie is doing well with potty training. She will usually give little whimpers or a howl to let us know she needs to be let outside. She seems to be treat motivated and it is helping her learn quickly. We started to work on getting her to sit, but the treats are working best at getting Annie to come when called. Annie has been in a house with 3 kids age 8 and under, so she is getting a lot of attention. When she is done playing with the dogs or the kids, Annie looks for a toy or just relaxes on the patio. She has accompanied the family to parks and sporting events. She has enjoyed the attention and been very well behaved. When she starts to get overwhelmed by the attention, she tends to stay close to her humans. Big dog barks and loud noises, like motorcycles, tend to cause a little fear and she will usually make her way back to the door or her humans. Car rides have also gone well. She whimpers a little until the car ride is underway, but a little verbal reassuring goes a long way. Annie would be a wonderful addition to any household. She is a joy to be around. Our favorite thing is her happy tail wag. The adoption fee of $550 will include spay/neuter, microchip, age appropriate/required vaccinations, treatment for heartworm and any other necessary medical treatment to assure a healthy new pup for your family.
