She is the perfect mix of playful and sweet. Topanga has a medium energy level and will fit into just about any home. Topanga loves to run and play with her doggy friends. She is submissive towards other dogs and gets along with them well. She is also great with kids and enjoys playing with them. She would do best in a home without a cat though. She is a big fan of squeaky and chew toys and an affectionate gal who loves anyone and everyone! Topanga is fully house trained and mostly crate trained; she goes in easily and usually settles immediately or within a few minutes. She is working on her leash skills, but with her smart and eager personality, she is sure to pick it up quickly. Topanga is the kind of pup who will grow right alongside you, sharing cuddles, adventures, and a whole lot of love. She is ready to find her forever family—could it be you? Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
