Description
Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed. Hope is a 2-year-old terrier mix who first joined our rescue back in April with her puppies (the “Breakfast Litter”). When she arrived, we learned she was heartworm positive — but she’s since completed treatment and is now ready to find her forever home! If you’ve ever wished for a dog who could crawl right into your heart (or your sweatshirt), this is your girl. Hope doesn’t bark — ever — so you can finally enjoy that peaceful Zoom call or Saturday nap without a chorus of “woofs.” Hope’s superpower? Pure, nonstop love. She’s happiest when she’s as close to you as physically possible — leaning on you, following you, or melting into a puddle of happiness at your feet. If cuddling were an Olympic sport, she’d take gold. This easygoing girl is also as well-mannered as they come: • Comfortable in a kennel or left out while you’re away • Perfectly polite around food — no begging or counter surfing • Loves her walks and makes a wonderful walking buddy for both kids and adults • Unbothered by neighbor dogs — no barking or fence-fighting Hope is the definition of a low-maintenance, high-love companion. If you’re looking for a dog who will adore you endlessly without the chaos, she’s waiting to meet you. All of our adoption fees include veterinary exam, age appropriate vaccines (up to date at time of adoption) spay/neuter, microchip and deworming. Puppies $550 Kittens $200 Adult fees vary, please message our page.

Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
