Dog Breed: Newfoundland Dog / Great Pyrenees / Mixed (long coat). Meet Lola, a 6 year old gentle giant that thinks she’s a lapdog. She is a beautiful blend of Great Pyrenees grace and Newfoundland loyalty and is the epitome of calm companionship. This loving beauty is currently weighing in at 145 pounds but we are hoping to get weight off her through diet and slow exercise so she is svelt and shapely when her new home finds her. Towering in size but soft as a cloud, she lives for one thing above all else: being close to her person. Snuggles! They're non-negotiable. Lola is happiest when she's curled up beside you—on the couch, on the floor, or in bed (if you let her sneak up). Her deep, soulful eyes follow you from room to room, never letting you stray too far without a reassuring nudge or a loving lean against your leg. True to her working-dog heritage, Lola is quietly protective, but never pushy. She's a natural guardian of hearts and homes—watchful, steady, and always gentle. Whether she's lounging at your feet, nudging your hand for another pet, or laying her massive head in your lap with a sigh of contentment, Lola is a constant source of love and calm. Lola came into rescue after a family tragedy in which she lost her mom, but this girl has always been loved unconditionally and her gentle affectionate spirit bears this out. Lola has lived with cats, dogs and children and loves them all. She is fully potty trained and is does not destroy anything when left alone! Just be prepared for the big ole paw of love when you get home! She doesn’t need much—just your presence, your affection, and a comfy spot to cuddle. They must all be trained with positive reward based training and all are all up to date with vaccinations, altered, microchipped, HeartWorm tested, and on preventatives. Once an application is pre-approved (contingent upon a home check) we will contact applicants that are a good match and set up a time for a meet. At that time we are happy to answer all of your questions. No inquiries prior to that please. All of our animals are spayed/neutered, examined by a vet, up-to-date on vaccinations, on heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, and microchipped. We adopt our animals as strictly inside companion pets. We will do a veterinarian reference check and a home safety check. We are located in Omaha, NE and we do not ship our animals. We are all volunteers so please be patient with us. Our requested adoption fees help go towards medical expenses, food, transportation, toys, and other supplies for our animals.
