Description
Dog Breed: Boxer. 10/13/25 Chopp is an owner surrender looking for a new home. Hi! My name is Chopp! I am a handsome 6 year old fawn boy that is an owner surrender due to my owner moving and unable to take me. I am described as friendly, active, protective, quiet, and obedient! I do not live with another dog or cat but am said to be dog friendly. I currently live with two kids (ages 4 and 16 years) and get along with them! I am house trained, crate trained, had basic training at Petsmart, and sleep on a mat or in the crate at night. If the humans must be away and I am left alone, I am fine. When outside I have good behavior and do not dig or attempt to jump fences/gates. Some of my favorite things are riding in the car, stuffed animals, balls, and snacks! If you think I would make a great addition to your family, contact the rescue today because I am waiting to meet you!

Breed overview
Boxer
A.K.A.: Deutscher Boxer, German Boxer, Dutch Boxer, Boxer dog, Boxy, Boxerman
Overview:
The Boxer is a medium-sized, short-haired dog breed of German origin, known for its distinctive appearance and vibrant personality. Physically, Boxers possess a strong, athletic build with a characteristic square head, an undershot jaw, and often a docked tail and cropped ears (though these practices are becoming less common). Their short, glossy coat typically comes in fawn or brindle, often with white markings. Temperamentally, Boxers are renowned for being incredibly loyal, intelligent, and energetic, making them fantastic companions for active families. They thrive on human interaction and can be playful and patient with children, making them excellent family pets. While their energy levels require regular exercise, their adaptability means they can adjust to apartment living if their activity needs are consistently met. However, potential owners should be aware of certain health considerations, including a predisposition to some cancers, heart conditions like cardiomyopathy, and hip dysplasia, underscoring the importance of responsible breeding and regular veterinary check-ups.
