Description
Dog Breed: Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler / Mixed (medium coat). Cattle Dog mix, female puppy Bella came from a local bad situation. An owner who didn’t know how to care for her and a friend who was willing to step up and get Bella out of that home. At 6 months old she has clearly had little exposure to anything and little to no exercise. We’re changing all that! Bella is getting along well with the other dogs at the rescue ranch. She had a quiet first night, and was calmer on day two, She went on a pack-walk (still leashed for now) and did great. This girl needs lots of exercise and stimulation. Bella is a Cattle Dog mix- possibly with German Shepard. The mix makes wonderful dogs. She will be spayed before being adopted out. She's now vaccinated and microchipped. She's about 40 lbs. Bella has lots to learn but she is picking it all up quickly and will make a great dog for a breed familiar owner. Bella is in Templeton, CA More photos and updates: .facebook/media/set/?set=a.1565179421110373&type=3 Interested in Bella? Please complete an application at: bit.ly/CCHDR_App

Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
