Description
Dog Breed: Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler / Mixed (short coat). Location: Atlanta, GA Coco Bean (formerly Costa) is a young cattle dog mix pup. She is about 25 lbs and very likely full grown at 8 months. She is a playful pup with lots of energy for walks, wrestling, or tug of war. She will fetch but prefers if someone else is also in on the chase. She loves other dogs and has only ever wanted to play with everyone she has met, even if they don't always feel the same way. She is mostly potty trained, but doesn't quite know how to ask to go out yet, so a solid routine is very helpful. She is very food motivated, and eager to learn new things. She is a snuggle monster and will happily cuddle you to sleep. She is available for adoption through the ACDRA. Contact Gilliemaegmail. Complete an Application .acdra/adoption-application

Breed overview

Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
