Description
Dog Breed: Pomeranian. We rescued Simba from an over-crowded shelter where he was nervous of all the loud noises. He slowly adjusted but still timid. He did fine with our long distance transporter and was quiet. Very sweet. Once at his foster home he slowly warmed up and was then happy. Running and playing with their 2 dogs. He was neglected very dirty and matted. Going to groomer for bath and grooming. After grooming photo to come. More info. to come from his Foster Home. Oct 31 Foster Home Update: Simba is a wonderful easy-going boy who’s as gentle as he is loving. He is house broken and has great manners. He enjoys attention and is always happy to be around people. Simba is polite and friendly with both dogs and humans and he loves to make new friends. He can be playful when it’s time for fun but also calm and relaxed when it’s time to unwind. He walks beautifully on leash — no pulling — making every stroll a joy. Simba is ready to bring love loyalty and happiness to his forever home!

Overview:
The Pomeranian is a vivacious and charming toy breed, originating from the historic region of Pomerania, now part of Poland and Germany. Descended from larger Spitz-type dogs, they were miniaturized over generations, becoming beloved companions. Physically, they are recognizable by their luxurious double coat, often seen in striking shades like orange, cream, or black, and their distinctive foxy face with bright, alert eyes. Despite their small stature, Poms possess a bold and inquisitive temperament; they are intelligent, eager to please, and can be surprisingly independent. They adapt well to apartment living due to their size, though they still benefit from regular walks and mental stimulation. While generally good with older, respectful children, their delicate build makes them more suitable for families who understand their needs. Regarding health, Poms can be prone to patellar luxation, tracheal collapse, and dental issues, emphasizing the importance of responsible breeding and regular veterinary care to ensure a long, happy life.
