Molly came to us from a rescue in Nash County — a gentle soul who has already endured far more than any dog should. Her story is sketchy, but what we do know is heartbreaking. Molly’s previous owners loved her, but when she tested positive for heartworms, they simply couldn’t afford the treatment. They surrendered her to their vet, where she stayed in a kennel for three long months, waiting… hoping… wondering if anyone would come for her. The vet began the slow-kill method to buy her some time, but a follower who heard her story couldn’t bear the thought of her spending another day behind bars. They reached out to us, and we couldn’t turn away. Molly is now safe with Rainbow Bridge Hospice Rescue and in a medical foster home. She’s already spayed, but she will need to begin the more aggressive fast-kill heartworm treatment to save her life — and she’ll also need a dental once she’s strong enough.
