We are unable to respond to individual questions at this time. Ruby is an AKC-registered English Cream Golden Retriever, approximately 4 to 5 years old, who will be arriving in our care on November 11th after being surrendered by her breeder. We are told that she has a stub tail. The breeder said it was that way since birth. Once she arrives, we will begin evaluating her temperament and overall health.. Ruby will undergo: A full grooming, spay surgery, blood test screening for heartworm, vaccinations, and microchipping. In addition to her medical care, we will assess her temperament and behavior. After her initial evaluation and vetting, Ruby will transition to a foster home in South Bend if she does not have an approved adoption application. Interested in Adopting? Submitting an application now simply indicates your interest — it is not a commitment to adopt. During the week of November 11th, qualified applicants will receive more information, including updated photos and a temperament assessment. At that time, you may choose to continue with your application or request to withdraw it. Adoption Requirements: A securely fenced backyard suitable for a large dog (no invisible fences). If you live in a condo or HOA that restricts fencing, we may consider your application on a case-by-case basis. Someone who is home more often and has time to dedicate to a dog. No use of crates. A tall baby gate to safely close off a room when you're away is acceptable. Children in the household must be 8 years or older. We will consider homes with no dogs or up to one dog. Multi-dog households are not eligible. We will not ship or transport .
