Dog Breed: German Shepherd Dog / Mixed (medium coat). Nanook (A140065) is a 1-year-old German Shepherd mix who weighed 73 pounds on intake! 10/30/25 This shy guy is Nanook! Nanook arrived at the shelter as a stray and is now looking for his new home. He did have a prior owner reach out with behavioral information. Nanook was said to be housebroken and will whine when he needs to go outside. He also knows his basic commands! Nanook would benefit from attending a basic obedience class to continue working on his manners and build his confidence. He was known to bark at strangers and has exhibited signs of stranger danger. He has no known experience with children but may do best in a home without children due to his timid behavior. Nanook was said to do well with dogs and will even leave cats alone! However, he was known to chase after moose. Please ensure you are making slow, safe, and controlled introductions with all new animals to help set him up for success.
