Galileo is a 2½-year-old, 10-pound Pomeranian with a big personality packed into a small, fluffy body! He’s playful, active, and full of joy, the kind of dog who can brighten any day with his happy energy. Galileo loves other dogs and children and would thrive in an active home where playtime is part of the daily routine. He’s potty trained and learning to walk confidently on a leash, improving a little more each day. Despite his energetic spirit, Galileo also enjoys downtime. After his morning walk, he’s content to relax by your side, making him an excellent work-from-home companion. He adores cuddles, toys, and being part of whatever’s going on around him. Galileo is a social pup and will do best in a home with lots of energy, another pup to play with and people who spend lots of time with him. Regular grooming is crucial for his breed, so his new family will need to be prepared to get him groomed every 4-6 weeks. This sweet boy is neutered, microchipped, and up to date on vaccinations. His adoption fee is $300. If you’re looking for a loving, fun, and loyal best friend, Galileo is ready to orbit right into your heart! All Second Chance Dog Rescue dogs are spayed/neutered, are up to date on vaccines and have microchips prior to adoption. Adoption fees vary depending on age of dog. Fees help Second Chance Dog Rescue cover spay/neuter costs, vaccinations, medical treatments, food and supplies. Please go to .secondchancedogrescue and complete an application today! All dogs live in private foster homes until they are adopted.

Overview:
The Pomeranian is a vivacious and charming toy breed, originating from the historic region of Pomerania, now part of Poland and Germany. Descended from larger Spitz-type dogs, they were miniaturized over generations, becoming beloved companions. Physically, they are recognizable by their luxurious double coat, often seen in striking shades like orange, cream, or black, and their distinctive foxy face with bright, alert eyes. Despite their small stature, Poms possess a bold and inquisitive temperament; they are intelligent, eager to please, and can be surprisingly independent. They adapt well to apartment living due to their size, though they still benefit from regular walks and mental stimulation. While generally good with older, respectful children, their delicate build makes them more suitable for families who understand their needs. Regarding health, Poms can be prone to patellar luxation, tracheal collapse, and dental issues, emphasizing the importance of responsible breeding and regular veterinary care to ensure a long, happy life.
