Dog Breed: Shepherd / Mixed (medium coat). Are you looking for a pup who can keep up with your active and busy life? Coraline is your girl! She is a 5 month old Shepherd/lab mix with ears that have started to stand up at full attention with just a little curl on the ends. Coraline is a quick learner and has taken to potty training and kennel training with ease. She loves having a job, and if not entertained, she does tend to make her own fun. She plays well with her dog foster brothers, cat foster sister, and her human foster kids. Walks around the neighborhood to check things out are a favorite! Coraline had a fracture to her front left leg after a tumble off a step that required surgery at 14 weeks of age. She has healed up nicely and will.hvae no issues going forward once she is fully healed in about a month. The hardest part of her recovery was keeping her playful personality calm while she rehabbed. A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
