Description
Dog Breed: Unknown breed. We found this dog in our neighborhood a week ago and were able to find her owners, but she was surrendered due to financial burdens. This dog is one in a million, an absolute HAM who wants to be somebody’s best friend for life. She has enormous potential even as young as she is. She knows sit, is housebroken and has a good idea of how to use her mouth and body (she is super sweet and gentle). She has been able to stay in a cage during the day without issue. We took her to a brewery patio and she did great, she just wants to meet everybody. We’d keep her if we could, but we travel too much for work. She isn’t hyper, but obviously will need daily walks and vet appointments as any dog would need. **** Breed: Pitbull **** Pet Link: .nokillnetwork/adoption/pet_detail.php?petid=2190638&flag=1

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
