Description
Dog Breed: Chihuahua / Miniature Pinscher / Mixed (short coat). Adoption Fee: 450. Meet Norman, the confidence king with a strut so sassy it deserves its own theme music. He may get a little vocal here and there, but don’t worry—he snaps out of it the second you remind him he’s being dramatic. He’s potty trained, knows sit and stay, and does well with other dogs. Small kids and brand-new humans? Well… Norman would prefer they approach slowly, maybe with a résumé and a polite introduction. He warms up on Norman Time™, and honestly, we respect his boundaries. Once he decides you’re worthy, though? Good luck getting rid of him. Norman lives for attention, belly rubs, and being glued to his people like a fuzzy little shadow. Toys? Absolutely not. Norman is far too dignified for such childish nonsense—he’d rather strut around wiggling his adorable nub tail like the main character he is. He’s crate trained, sleeps through the night, and wakes up every morning ready to begin his daily routine of Being Handsome and Going Places. Treats don’t impress him much, but breakfast and dinner? Now we’re talking. Norman loves exploring the outdoors and is always down for an adventure… right up until he’s ready for his cozy end-of-day flop. Whether he’s strutting with confidence or rolling over for dramatic belly rubs, he’s equal parts distinguished gentleman and lovable goof. If you need a loyal buddy with equal parts charm, sass, and wiggle—Norman is your guy. Norman is from a local impound. Breed overview
Overview:
The Chipin, a lively cross between the Chihuahua and Miniature Pinscher, originated in the United States as a designer breed. These small yet sturdy dogs typically weigh between 5-10 pounds, boasting a short, smooth coat that comes in various colors like black, tan, chocolate, and fawn. Physically, they often inherit the Chihuahua’s apple-shaped head or the Miniature Pinscher’s sleek build, with expressive eyes and alert ears. Temperamentally, Chipins are known for being affectionate, energetic, and surprisingly courageous, often displaying a "big dog" personality in a small package. They can be excellent companions for individuals or families with older children, and their compact size makes them highly suitable for apartment living, provided they receive adequate exercise. While generally healthy, potential health concerns include patellar luxation, dental issues, and heart conditions, inherited from their parent breeds. Early socialization and consistent training are crucial for a well-adjusted Chipin.
