Say hello to happy Rue, the 1.5-year-old Labrador/mixed breed girl, a stray who is eager to bring glad tidings of good cheer and loads of fun to the lucky folks who give her a forever home and family. Rue has a beautiful brown coat with a white chest stripe and adorable, white-tipped paws. Weighing 44 pounds, she is a medium-sized girl (31-60 pounds). Rue has a big bushy tail, perfect for wagging whenever she makes a new friend, which is just about every day as she loves everyone she meets. Play is never far from her mind, particularly if she has canine and youthful human companions to share in the fun. It is not known whether Rue has experience with cats. Rue is working at her house and leash training. She is a young dog with puppy spirits and energy, so a firm, positive and consistent approach to training, with plenty of practice and praise, will lead to her success. Rescue dogs may have accidents as they transition to a new home, so patience is also important. If crate training is planned, Rue requires a crate that is big enough for her to turn around, stand in and lie down. Crates need to be warm welcoming places and must never be used for punishment. A great family dog should be sweet, playful and ready for her close-up on the family photo collection.
