He is a 3 year old, 9 pound Pomeranian. With a little time and patience, Puffin quickly becomes a super sweet shadow. Puffin is picking up house training quickly using the "tether" technique. He sleeps through the night and springs up to greet you in the morning. It's truly an adorable way to start your day. He does well in his crate when left alone and when in the car. Puffin is working on his reactivity towards humans and dogs. We think it comes from a place of under-socialization and fear, but he's learning that being quiet means treats, and he walks well on the leash otherwise. We have not seen Puffin interact with kids or cats. Give this wind up fluff ball a chance - Puffin will be your loyal pal and bring everyday cuteness to your life! He is microchipped and up to date on all his vaccines. His adoption fee is $300. All Second Chance Dog Rescue dogs are spayed/neutered, are up to date on vaccines and have microchips prior to adoption. Adoption fees vary depending on age of dog. Fees help Second Chance Dog Rescue cover spay/neuter costs, vaccinations, medical treatments, food and supplies. Please go to .secondchancedogrescue and complete an application today! All dogs live in private foster homes until they are adopted.

Pomeranian

A.K.A.: Pom, Pom Pom, Pommy, Dwarf Spitz, Toy Spitz, German Toy, Mini Spitz, Pom Pup, Fluffy Pom, Pocket Pom, Pom Companion, Royal Pom, Pom Fluff, Pomster, Pom Prince, Pom Princess
Overview:

The Pomeranian is a vivacious and charming toy breed, originating from the historic region of Pomerania, now part of Poland and Germany. Descended from larger Spitz-type dogs, they were miniaturized over generations, becoming beloved companions. Physically, they are recognizable by their luxurious double coat, often seen in striking shades like orange, cream, or black, and their distinctive foxy face with bright, alert eyes. Despite their small stature, Poms possess a bold and inquisitive temperament; they are intelligent, eager to please, and can be surprisingly independent. They adapt well to apartment living due to their size, though they still benefit from regular walks and mental stimulation. While generally good with older, respectful children, their delicate build makes them more suitable for families who understand their needs. Regarding health, Poms can be prone to patellar luxation, tracheal collapse, and dental issues, emphasizing the importance of responsible breeding and regular veterinary care to ensure a long, happy life.
