Description
Dog Breed: Bull Terrier. Cupcake is a 2 year old 55 lb spayed female Bull Terrier mix. She came from San Antonio, TX kill shelter after being hit by a car and nobody reclaimed her! So our Texas Team pulled from the shelter and sent Cupcake to us after fostering her for quite a while! This is Foster's description of Cupcake's behavior: She is very playful with all dogs, small and big! High energy! House and crate trained! Unfortunately her right eye was severely injured when she was hit by the car before ending up in the kill shelter. But despite that she loved people and playing with other dogs. One veterinarian said her eye was damaged but would heal. When she arrived to our rescue in Pa, our Veterinarian had to inspect her eye, and said it was much worse and non visual and he removed the eye surgically. She doing great and healing well. Still a happy girl! She is fully vaccinated and microchipped and tested heartworm negative. She really needs a loving home with a fenced in yard hopefully because she likes to run or an owner that likes to run! If you are interested in meeting or adopting Cupcake please text me Casey at 570-441-0083. We adopt to the general public but we also adopt to military veterans with adoption fee waived in order to provide our heroes with companion or emotional support dogs . Our other adoptable pets our posted on our website as well as the very brief (5 minutes) application form. rescuepetsservingvets

Overview:
The Bull Terrier, instantly recognizable by its unique egg-shaped head and small, triangular eyes, is a captivating breed with a rich history. Originating in 19th-century England as a cross between the Bulldog and the now-extinct White English Terrier, they were initially bred for fighting but quickly transitioned to companionship. Physically, they are sturdy and muscular, coming in two size varieties: Standard and Miniature, both boasting a short, dense coat that is easy to maintain. In terms of temperament, Bull Terriers are known for their playful, mischievous, and affectionate nature. They are highly energetic and intelligent, requiring consistent training and plenty of exercise to prevent boredom. While generally good with children when properly socialized, their high energy makes them better suited for active families. They can adapt to apartment living if their exercise needs are met, but a yard is often preferred. Health-wise, they can be prone to certain conditions like deafness, patellar luxation, and skin allergies, making regular veterinary check-ups essential for a long and happy life with these devoted companions.
