Description
Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed (short coat). Beau (SC) is a 70 lb. neutered male Pit Bull Terrier mix. Our veterinary partner estimated that Beau was 2 years old at the time of intake in September 2021. Beau is a super sweet, gentle, friendly boy who is good with people. Although Beau loves children, he's a big guy who doesn't know his own strength, so he would do best with teens and older. This beautiful boy was shot in the mouth while a drug warrant was being served; fortunately, the bullet lodged in Beau's neck in a spot that is not causing any pain or limitation. It was determined that it's best left there as the surgery to remove it is dangerous. Beau is a couch potato and LOVES to cuddle, is completely housebroken, enjoys car rides and does not chew or destroy anything (except for his toys which he loves to remove squeakers from). Beau would be perfect for a person or couple that doesn’t have other animals or has one submissive female (the only type of dogs he seems to get along with). He needs to be the center of attention so he can get all the love and attention he deserves. Beau is reactive to other dogs, so walking can be a bit challenging (he has a loud bark). Having a fenced in yard would be a plus. Beau can truly be your forever, loyal best friend if you crave pure unconditional love. You will be blessed to encounter this special guy. A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics.
