Description
Dog Breed: Border Collie (medium coat). Please contact stephodellbchotmail for more information about this pet. - ✨ Maeve — A Sparkly Sweetheart Who Blossoms With Trust Fostered in Plymouth, IN | ~2 Years Old | Smooth Coat BC × ACD Mix Maeve is a beautiful, soft-hearted girl with a big heart and just the right touch of sparkle. She’s a loyal, affectionate companion once she knows you — the kind of dog who bonds deeply and loves her people with her whole soul. But Maeve is also a sensitive girl. She can be cautious and suspicious of unfamiliar people at first. With a little patience and space, though, she warms up and becomes incredibly sweet, loving, and connected. When she had to stay at the emergency vet, she was wary upon arrival… but by the next day, she was completely fine with the staff. That’s Maeve — she just needs a moment, and then she blossoms. Maeve’s Personality Highlights: Affectionate once familiar — deeply loyal to her people Suspicious of new people at first, but warms up reliably Gentle, sweet, and eager for connection Rides nicely in the car Housetrained & crate-training improving every day Good with other dogs (prefers calmer companions) Truly a “good girl” who wants to feel safe and loved Maeve will thrive in a patient, understanding home that gives her the time she needs to trust. Once she does, she’s affectionate, easy, and absolutely devoted — the kind of companion who makes every day brighter. Please contact stephodellbchotmail if you have any questions about Maeve. You can complete an application to adopt Maeve or any of the dogs on our website at ebyebcrescue . *** The potential adopter will get a refund on the Application Fee if it’s determined by the Foster Parent that it’s not a good match for the dog and the dog for them, if we do not process their application.

Overview:
The Border Collie is a highly intelligent and energetic herding dog, originating from the Anglo-Scottish border region where they were bred for their exceptional sheep-gathering abilities. Physically, they are medium-sized dogs with an athletic build, typically weighing between 30-55 pounds, and feature a double coat that can be rough or smooth, appearing in a wide variety of colors, though black and white is most common. Their alert, intense gaze is a hallmark of the breed. Temperamentally, Border Collies are renowned for their incredible trainability, eagerness to please, and boundless energy, making them excellent candidates for dog sports like agility and obedience. However, this high drive means they require significant mental and physical stimulation; without proper outlets, they can become bored and destructive. While loyal and affectionate with their families, their herding instincts can sometimes translate to nipping at children or other pets if not managed, making them generally better suited for experienced owners who can dedicate time to their training and exercise needs. They are definitely not suited for apartment living and thrive in homes with large, secure yards and active lifestyles. Health-wise, they are generally robust, but can be prone to certain genetic conditions such as Collie Eye Anomaly (CEA), hip and elbow dysplasia, and Trapped Neutrophil Syndrome (TNS).
