Description
Dog Breed: Pit Bull Terrier. Adoption Fee: 425. Meet Juno Juno is a pint sized 3-year-old American Pit Bull Terrier. Here’s what makes Juno special: Cuddle Queen – If you’re on the couch, she’ll be right next to you (or on you!) Food Motivated – Treats are her love language and make training extra fun! ☀️ Sunbeam Seeker – You’ll often find her snoozing in a sunny patch, soaking up the rays. Training in Progress – She’s learning cues like “touch” and doing great! House & Crate Trained – Reliable in the home and comfortable in her crate. ‍‍ Best Home Fit: Juno can be a bit shy in new situations, so she’d thrive in a calm home with adults or older kids who will give her the time and space to warm up at her own pace. Our data base requires us to give an animal a breed. The breed given to the dog is our best estimate, and should not be used to predict future behavior.

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
