Description
Dog Breed: Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler / Mixed (medium coat). Cattle Dog mix, adult female Like a fine wine, Olivia isn’t meant to be rushed. At first pour, she may seem a little reserved, quietly taking in the room, unsure of unfamiliar hands and new surroundings. But give her time to breathe — space, patience, and gentle consistency — and something beautiful happens. Slowly, her true flavors emerge: a soft gaze that lingers a little longer, a tail that starts to wag just for you, a loyal presence that chooses your side once trust is earned. This is a dog for someone who understands that the best things in life aren’t instant — they’re cultivated. Olivia isn’t flashy or overwhelming. She’s nuanced. Thoughtful. Deeply devoted once opened up. The kind of companion who forms a bond that feels rare because you earned it together. We know Olivia will require a dog friend or two in her new home. She's fantastic in a pack and great in the house. Loves, loves, loves her off leash time. Although she's wonderful on leash as well. Olivia is a 2 year old, border collie mix located in Templeton, CA. She is microchipped, spayed, and UTD on vaccines. Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
