Description
Dog Breed: Boxer (short coat). Meet Lenny At just 9 months old, Lenny found himself sick and out of time in an overcrowded shelter. Thankfully, he’s now safe with CH Boxer Rescue, where he’s resting, healing, and learning what love is. Lenny is recovering from an upper respiratory infection and bite wounds, but through it all he’s shown what a truly sweet little boy he is. The world still feels big and scary to him, yet he’s already learning that people can be kind—he trusts his foster mom and is taking comfort in a warm, quiet place to recover. Once he’s feeling better, Lenny will be introduced to other dogs. Overview:
The Boxer is a medium-sized, short-haired dog breed of German origin, known for its distinctive appearance and vibrant personality. Physically, Boxers possess a strong, athletic build with a characteristic square head, an undershot jaw, and often a docked tail and cropped ears (though these practices are becoming less common). Their short, glossy coat typically comes in fawn or brindle, often with white markings. Temperamentally, Boxers are renowned for being incredibly loyal, intelligent, and energetic, making them fantastic companions for active families. They thrive on human interaction and can be playful and patient with children, making them excellent family pets. While their energy levels require regular exercise, their adaptability means they can adjust to apartment living if their activity needs are consistently met. However, potential owners should be aware of certain health considerations, including a predisposition to some cancers, heart conditions like cardiomyopathy, and hip dysplasia, underscoring the importance of responsible breeding and regular veterinary check-ups.
