Dog Breed: Terrier / Mixed. Adoptable in: MA, RI, NH, CT, and VT Good with dogs: Yes Good with cats: No Good with kids: Yes, dog savvy children Crate trained: Yes House Trained: Yes Andi is the perfect combination of playful and chill. She has a medium energy level and enjoys playtime, but settles down for a good nap afterwards. Her ideal home would have another playful dog, or a human willing to play fetch on a regular basis. Andi loves other dogs and is always ready for a game. She is very confident when meeting other dogs and likes to rough house, so dogs with a similar play style would be perfect. She has been in a foster home with cats and sees them as potential playmates, which the cats were not too keen on. Andi would do fine with dog savvy kids, especially if they're up for a game! Andi walks well on a leash and likes to stay close to her person. She is crate trained and house trained too. Andi is a confident and snuggly girl looking for her forever home. Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
