Description
Dog Breed: Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler / Mixed (medium coat). Cattle Dog mix, female Welcome Wednesday! A beautiful, 1-year old, 38lb heeler mix found roaming the streets of Bakersfield and picked up by Animal Control Here is what her foster has to report: Wednesday is such a sweet, smart, healthy, and beautiful girl! She learned several commands in just three days - “sit”, “outside”, “ inside”, and “come”. She’s coming along quickly in the house training department too. Wednesday takes treats gently and doesn’t chew anything in the house. She does enjoy a good game of taking her foster mom’s socks and slippers and moving them to a new spot. She is very affectionate. She does well with other dogs and seemingly birds too, but NOT cats - she barks and chases. Wednesday is now located in Templeton, CA. She is microchipped, spayed, and UTD on vaccines. .facebook/media/set/?set=a.1623567755271539&type=3 Interested in Wednesday? Please complete an application at: bit.ly/CCHDR_App

Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
