Description
Dog Breed: Labrador Retriever / Golden Retriever / Mixed (medium coat). Koa is a gentleman who has his basic commands on lock! His volunteer friends love his wiggly, happy demeanor and love for walks. Koa is crate trained, house trained, walks well on leash, and is reported to have done great being left alone at home for the length of a work day. He's even lived with a young child and a cat! In previous homes, Koa has struggled with meeting new dogs, especially while on leash or sharing a fenceline. At the shelter, we evaluated Koa in our play yard with both a large and small dog with no issues, though we still think he may be the happiest as the only dog. For more information, come visit Koa at the shelter or email animal.careventura! snowpony1288 Itâs the third week of February and we are back at the shelter! Poor Koa is feeling better but has tons of energy after being cooped up so long. He was a stressed man, so we exercised his brain AND his legs. Then, itâs always the best time with my favorite girlâs girl, Christie ?? Breed overview
Overview:
The Golden Labrador, a delightful hybrid often referred to as a Goldador, is a popular cross between the Golden Retriever and the Labrador Retriever. Originating from designer breeding programs, these intelligent dogs inherit the best traits from both beloved parent breeds. Physically, they are medium to large-sized with a muscular build, typically sporting a dense, water-repellent coat in shades of gold, yellow, or cream. Their temperament is exceptionally friendly, loyal, and eager to please, making them outstanding family pets that get along well with children and other animals. While adaptable, their energy levels necessitate regular exercise, making a house with a yard preferable over strict apartment living. Though generally healthy, potential health considerations include hip and elbow dysplasia, common in both parent breeds, and certain eye conditions. Overall, the Golden Labrador offers a wonderful blend of intelligence, affection, and trainability, making them a fantastic companion for active families.
