Adoptable in: MA, RI, NH, CT, and VT Good with dogs: Yes Good with cats: Yes Good with kids: Yes Crate trained: Yes House Trained: Working on it Indigo is a sweet and cuddly medium energy puppy. She loves to play hard and nap harder. Her ideal family would be one who is ready for a puppy and to shower her with love and affection. Indigo gets along very well with other dogs. She is fostered in a multi dog home and enjoys playing with her doggy friends. Indigo has been fostered with cats and co-exists fine. She adores kids, especially if they're willing to play tug-of-war. She loves to snuggle on the couch and sleep on anything fluffy or in someone's arms. Indigo is crated for a few hours during the day and sleeps soundly in her crate all night. She is continuing to work on her house training and with time, consistency and routine she will soon master it. She will sit for treats and is eager to learn more commands. Indigo enjoys going for walks around the neighborhood, and happily greets everyone she meets. She will thrive in a family that is ready to welcome a puppy. Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
