Description
Dog Breed: Husky / German Shepherd Dog / Mixed (medium coat). Gronk (A140721) is a 6-year-old AK Husky x GSD mix who weighed 61 pounds on intake! 12/29/25 This fun-loving team was surrendered to the shelter and is looking for homes that can keep them active and running! Gronk has a lot of energy and will be the first to tell you when he is ready to go!! These boys are brothers and were stated to be AK Husky and German Shepherd mixes with a smidge of pitty mixed in. They are used to living outdoors on dog houses but have been enjoying the warmth of our inside kennels during this cold snap! They were said to love curling up in their straw when outdoors and coming inside to cozy up next to the fireplace. When they can not get out for a run on the sled, they were said to love playing with each other in a fenced-in yard or going on long walks through the woods! They would love to join someoneâs rec team or a home that can keep them active and stimulated! If you are interested in meeting Mokey or any of his brothers/teammates, please let us know!

Breed overview
Overview:
The Gerberian Shepsky is a hybrid of the German Shepherd Dog and Siberian Husky, emerging in North America as a modern companion with working-dog roots. Typically medium to large, they feature an athletic build, erect ears, and a dense double coat, often with striking blue or heterochromatic eyes. Their temperament blends loyalty, intelligence, and independence, making them affectionate yet occasionally headstrong. With very high energy, they thrive on daily exercise and structured training, suiting active families more than apartment living without ample outdoor time. Early socialization supports good manners with children and other pets. Notable health considerations include potential hip dysplasia and eye issues; regular vet care, weight management, and coat grooming help maintain well-being. Their typical lifespan ranges around 10–13 years, rewarding committed owners with a loyal, adventurous companion.
