Description
Dog Breed: German Shepherd Dog / Labrador Retriever / Mixed (short coat). Adoption Fee: 600. Meet Lousey Louis — Lousey Louis may have been the smallest of his litter, but don’t let his short, round little body fool you—he’s bursting with personality and puppy charm! Mostly all white with just a splash of orange behind his back legs, Louis is as cute as they come. This sweet boy is a professional napper and would happily spend his days curled up on a warm lap, soaking up cuddles and belly rubs. When he’s not snoozing, he’s busy being a very typical puppy—full of playful energy, romping around with his sister, and enthusiastically attacking his favorite rope toy. Watching him play tug-of-war with her is pure joy and guaranteed to melt your heart. Louis loves mealtime and goes absolutely wild for treats. During the day, he hangs out in the x-pen with his sister, splitting his time between napping, playing with toys, and charming everyone in the family. At night, he’d much rather keep the party going—overnights are his least favorite because it means people go to bed without him. Whether he’s sleeping on his back, sprawled on top of his sister, or cuddled up for a nap, Lousey Louis is truly a bundle of puppy cuteness just waiting to steal someone’s heart. Lousey Louis is from a local reservation. If you are interested in getting to know this animal better, please fill out an adoption application. Breed overview
Overview:
The Sheprador, a popular crossbreed resulting from the union of a German Shepherd Dog and a Labrador Retriever, embodies many desirable traits from both parent breeds. Originating from designer breed efforts to combine the intelligence of the German Shepherd with the Labrador's friendly disposition, these dogs typically boast a medium to large build with a dense, weather-resistant coat that can range in color. Physically, they often exhibit the Shepherd’s strong bone structure and the Lab’s kind eyes. Temperamentally, Shepradors are generally intelligent, loyal, and trainable, making them excellent companions for active families. They thrive on human interaction and do best in homes with a yard, as their energy levels make apartment living challenging without significant daily exercise. While generally healthy, potential health considerations include hip and elbow dysplasia, common to both parent breeds, and eye conditions. Early socialization and consistent training are key to fostering a well-adjusted Sheprador.
