This medium-energy pup enjoys her daily walks but is equally content lounging on the couch with her humans. Juliet's easygoing nature means she would do well in nearly any home ready to welcome her with open arms. Juliet gets along beautifully with other dogs and is respectful of their cues. She's fostered with other pups and adjusts her play style accordingly, so she'd do well with or without a canine sibling. She lived with cats in her previous foster home and coexisted peacefully with them. She would do fine with a dog-savvy cat in the home. Her friendly, gentle disposition will likely do well with children. Juliet loves her chew ropes and toys, and one of her favorite ways to show affection is with sweet face kisses! Juliet is a smart girl who's eager to please. She is fully crate trained and house trained. She is crated during the day and overnight without any issues and has had zero accidents since coming north. Juliet walks well on leash and is improving her leash manners. She may pull with excitement at first but settles in quickly as she navigates her new environment. This affectionate, well-rounded girl is ready to bring so much joy to her forever home. A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
