Description
Dog Breed: Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler / Mixed (medium coat). Cattle Dog mix, male Zion has been emotionally homeless for months! If you know anything about heelers it’s that they need a person to call home. This guy is desperate. All he wants is to load up and standby while you do whatever it is you need to do - laundry, groceries, gardening, emails he doesn’t care as long as he gets to be a part of it. He tolerates other dogs with a proper, steady introduction but what he’d prefer is to be THE ride or die, center of your universe buddy. He is the most loyal, loving, and dedicated dude out there. He is fine with cats, good on / off leash, great recall, crate trained, and more! He’d thrive under the leadership of a calm, confident, training-focused, breed savvy handler. Zion is a 3 year old, 45lb, Queensland heeler mix. He is microchipped, neutered, and UTD on vaccines. Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
