Description
Dog Breed: Hound / Beagle (short coat). Oswald is such a handsome boy, and is now sleek and looking fit! after spending several weeks in a foster home, he’s back with the shelter so we can help promote him more easily. He appears to be house trained, and he does love being around other dogs. He is an active five-year-old boy, with a pretty brindle coat. It’s possible he is a beagle/Weimeraner, or maybe even a plott hound mix.’ He does well in a crate, and will be a wonderful companion to be indoors. He’s great with children, as well as every adult he meets.he is neutered, currently with vaccines, and has been tested for heartworm. when we take him for car rides, we have to make sure he is secure because he wants to not just ride shotgun. He wants to ride “lapdog!” He is a leader and loves his humans to be snuggling with him. He is a little anxious when there are too many other dogs around him, but does well with less activity. we think he’s pretty special! We hope you will too. Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
