Our listed dogs ARE READY IMMEDIATELY; we only meet with families WHO ARE READY TO ADOPT! IF YOU APPLY and if WE APPROVE YOU it means we are assuming when you meet any of our dogs and fall in love you're ready to ADOPT AND HIM OR HER HOME! Funny Frisky Free-Spirited FRED is in the market for a Forever home and family; he was saved from a large city shelter but has been fostering for almost 2 months and is READY for “forever to begin.” Fred is only 15 months old but full-grown. He’s still got potential puppy energy of 8 but can also acclimate to the environment and chill-out with the fam. Fred loves getting attention! Petting, belly-scratches hunkering down to snuggle he’s a definite cuddle bug! He has been sleeping in the room with his humans but only because he’s behaved well enough to do so. Fred has a lab-mix buddy he LOVES loves to play with. They race around the yard or park jumping, playing and having a blast then settle down and collapse next to each other for hours. We are looking for an Aussie-Savvy home because Fred came into the shelter as a rural dog; he’s had terrific transitional training but we still want to ensure an environment where Fred keeps getting new “challenges” to master. Fred already knows several commands; he is crate-trained so “crate,” but basics like “sit, down, give paw” as well. He is very food-motivated (his favorite treat is cheese) He’s extremely motivated, loves to learn new commands and tricks. Typical of the breed Fred is a people-pleaser and a quick-study! At home Fred is a calm and goofy dog who always likes to be involved with his people; in typical Aussie fashion he wants to be part of the action and may follow a human from room to room. Out and about Fred is still mastering leash-walking. He has not been working on it for long so sometimes barks at other dogs or people and needs a correction. This is to be expected since he was never leash-walked until he got to his foster home. We are seeking a home with experienced Aussie owners, owners that will use train with positive reinforcement training while working with him. He loves running around and playing so a similar size, age or type canine companion would be ideal. Fred has been most responsive following another dog’s lead like for “loading up” in the car, using a doggie door and other dog-specific activities. Finally, we really want Fred in a home where it’s not empty all day; he doesn’t need 24-7 humans and especially if he has a dog buddy, but we also want people with the time to give him lots of affection, exercise and skill-building. Who has a fun, young dog who needs Fun Freddie as a playmate? If he may be the one for you please COMPLETE OUR APPLICATION on the website below! Then TEXT SARA: 214-549-9905 &. KEVIN: 469-623-3999 so we can check your app! Overview:

The Golden Retriever, a beloved breed originating from the Scottish Highlands in the mid-19th century, was developed for retrieving game from land and water. Physically, they are medium-sized dogs known for their striking golden-colored coats, ranging from cream to dark gold, which are dense and water-repellent. Their gentle eyes and friendly smiles are as characteristic as their feathered tails and strong, well-proportioned bodies. Temperamentally, Golden Retrievers are celebrated for their amiable, intelligent, and devoted nature, making them exceptionally patient and tolerant companions. This makes them superb family dogs, typically great with children and other pets, though their need for space and exercise means they are generally less suited for apartment living. While generally robust, they are prone to certain health concerns such as hip and elbow dysplasia, certain cancers, and eye conditions, making regular veterinary check-ups crucial for their long-term well-being.
