This medium-energy pup will do epic backyard zoomies followed by an immediate couch collapse. Serena is looking for a patient, calm home where she can continue to build her confidence and truly shine. Serena is a classic slow-to-warm gal when meeting new people. She prefers to observe and approach at her own pace, then when she feels safe she transforms into a total love bug. Serena hopes her new family will advocate for her as she continues to learn that most new people aren’t scary, and some of them even have treats! She hasn’t met any kids yet, but is so gentle and affectionate that she would likely do well with dog-savvy kids who could respect her slow approach style. Serena looooves other dogs and invites them to play with gentle bumps and face kisses, but if they don’t want to she will respect their boundaries and entertain herself. She’s even great with cats and wants nothing more than to be friends with them, though she will leave them alone if they don’t want the same. Serena’s silly side comes out when she gets comfortable, and her favorite things are to play with her doggy friends or crawl onto the lap of someone she trusts for cuddles. Serena is fully house- and crate-trained, and settles in immediately to be crated during the day and overnight. She has been working hard on her leash skills and hopes her new family will continue to encourage her as she bravely faces new sights and sounds on walks. Serena is eager to please and has been making lots of progress with positive reinforcement. Serena is a sweet, shy girl who wants to find a home where she can blossom and let her goofy side shine.
