Dog Breed: Labrador Retriever / Anatolian Shepherd / Mixed. Lima is an 11-month-old, 48 lb sweetheart who is spayed, healthy, fully vaccinated, and 4DX negative. She walks nicely on leash (and is still learning), and she is calm and well-mannered during car rides when crated. Lima would make a wonderful family dog and is loving with other dogs, children, and adults. Lima was found by the rescuers in Albania while they were on their way to purchase vaccines. She was sitting quietly in front of a veterinary pharmacy, calmly watching people walk by. They later learned that a furniture business next door had found her as a puppy and kept her during her most vulnerable stage. Once she was old enough to survive on her own, they released her back onto the streets. Sadly, dogs raised this way are never prepared for the realities and dangers of street life. The rescuers in Albania originally planned to spay Lima and release her, at least preventing her from having puppies. However, they noticed an injury on her ear that required her to stay at the vet longer. And once a dog has been in their care for over a week, returning her to the street was no longer an option. Lima is incredibly sweet and gentle. She may be a little shy at first, but give her just a couple of minutes and she will be trying to lick your face. She is loving, calm, and trusting, and truly deserves a safe, forever home where she can finally feel secure and loved.
