Description
Dog Breed: Chihuahua / Miniature Pinscher / Mixed (short coat). I am 23 lbs, and I am looking for my forever home. Adoption Donation: $450 Meet Brownie: the tiny, sensitive soul who’s basically a chocolate truffle in dog form—a little firm on the outside, but total mush once he melts! This sweet guy is looking for a specific kind of vibe; he treats life like a slow-burn romance, meaning he won't love you on the first date, but once he trusts you, he’s yours forever. Because he is a professional wallflower who deeply values his peace and quiet, he is officially requesting an adults-only sanctuary where he can truly blossom at his own pace. Brownie is a "slow and steady" specialist looking for a patient human who understands that the best things in life take time. Once he feels safe, his timid exterior fades away to reveal a loyal, loving companion who just wants to be near you. He actually gets a major confidence boost from other pups, so a friendly canine roommate would be the perfect "hype man" to help him come out of his shell. Since he’s a dedicated peace-and-quiet enthusiast, Brownie is looking for a "No-Kid Zone." He’s dreaming of a mature, child-free home where the only thing he has to worry about is which spot on the couch is the sunniest. If you’ve got a quiet heart and a calm home, Brownie is waiting to show you just how sweet life can be. All dogs are microchipped, neutered, current on all vaccines, heartworm tested (if age appropriate), and up-to-date on preventatives at the time of adoption. All household members and any dogs from the household need to be present to be able to adopt. A photo ID will be required at the time of adoption. Appointments are recommended. All applications are considered general. Specific animals are NOT put on hold for adoption. When you visit, our adoption counselors will be able to make suggestions based on the type of pet you are looking for and help you find the best fit for your family. Animal House Shelter cannot guarantee the breeds of the adoptable animals. The animals are posted on the website as the breed or breed mix based on their physical characteristics they most resemble. Breed overview
Overview:
The Chipin, a lively cross between the Chihuahua and Miniature Pinscher, originated in the United States as a designer breed. These small yet sturdy dogs typically weigh between 5-10 pounds, boasting a short, smooth coat that comes in various colors like black, tan, chocolate, and fawn. Physically, they often inherit the Chihuahua’s apple-shaped head or the Miniature Pinscher’s sleek build, with expressive eyes and alert ears. Temperamentally, Chipins are known for being affectionate, energetic, and surprisingly courageous, often displaying a "big dog" personality in a small package. They can be excellent companions for individuals or families with older children, and their compact size makes them highly suitable for apartment living, provided they receive adequate exercise. While generally healthy, potential health concerns include patellar luxation, dental issues, and heart conditions, inherited from their parent breeds. Early socialization and consistent training are crucial for a well-adjusted Chipin.
