Description
Dog Breed: Bull Terrier. Bert is a 3-year-old American Bully with a big head, a beefcake build, and the softest heart to match. Weighing about 50 lbs, this medium-sized guy may look tough, but he’s truly a big sweet baby with zero mean bones in his body. He’s happiest chewing on a Benebone, snoozing on his back (legs in the air like a goof), or cuddling directly on top of his favorite human. Bert is fully house-trained and crate-trained, his kennel is his happy place, and he’ll often go in on his own just to relax or chew a toy. He’s low-energy, easygoing, and perfectly content lounging around the house rather than going on long walks. He gets along well with other dogs and is neutral but curious when meeting dogs outside the home, greeting them with a wagging tail and calm demeanor. He’s an independent guy who doesn’t need another dog in the home and does great when left alone, whether crated or free-roaming, no barking, no whining, just naps. Bert isn’t vocal (except for a single mailman incident) and doesn’t require a fenced yard as long as he’s taken out on leash. Overall, Bert is a happy, gentle, low-maintenance companion who would thrive in a calm home where he can soak up love, snuggles, and plenty of naps. If you’re looking for a laid-back cuddle buddy with a silly sploot and an even sillier sleeping position, Bert is your guy. If you are interested in Bert, fill out an application at this link to get the ball rolling - pethavenmn/adopt/adoptable-dogs/dog-adoption-application/ The adoption fee is $450. Overview:
The Bull Terrier, instantly recognizable by its unique egg-shaped head and small, triangular eyes, is a captivating breed with a rich history. Originating in 19th-century England as a cross between the Bulldog and the now-extinct White English Terrier, they were initially bred for fighting but quickly transitioned to companionship. Physically, they are sturdy and muscular, coming in two size varieties: Standard and Miniature, both boasting a short, dense coat that is easy to maintain. In terms of temperament, Bull Terriers are known for their playful, mischievous, and affectionate nature. They are highly energetic and intelligent, requiring consistent training and plenty of exercise to prevent boredom. While generally good with children when properly socialized, their high energy makes them better suited for active families. They can adapt to apartment living if their exercise needs are met, but a yard is often preferred. Health-wise, they can be prone to certain conditions like deafness, patellar luxation, and skin allergies, making regular veterinary check-ups essential for a long and happy life with these devoted companions.
