Dog Breed: Black Labrador Retriever / Australian Shepherd / Mixed (short coat). I'm 43 lbs, and I am looking for my forever home. Adoption Donation: $450 Meet Lucy! She is a lovely black lab/Australian shepherd mix ready to find her forever home! Lucy’s story didn’t begin the way any dog’s should. She was rescued alongside 41 other dogs from a property filled with unsafe, wrecked trailers — those trailers were their only source of protection. Despite such a difficult start, Lucy has held onto the sweetest, most hopeful heart. This gentle girl can be a little shy when meeting new people, but give her a little time and she blossoms into a loving, loyal companion. Once she feels safe, her happy personality truly shines. Lucy loves the company of other dogs and would do wonderfully in a home with a canine friend or chances for social time. More than anything, she’s dreaming of something she’s never truly had — a warm, cozy home and a family who will show her the love she deserves. If you’re looking for a kind soul who will reward your patience with quiet devotion and a wagging tail, Lucy is ready to begin her bright new chapter. All dogs are microchipped, neutered, current on all vaccines, heartworm tested (if age appropriate), and up-to-date on preventatives at the time of adoption. All household members and any dogs from the household need to be present to be able to adopt. A photo ID will be required at the time of adoption. Appointments are recommended. All applications are considered general. Specific animals are NOT put on hold for adoption. When you visit, our adoption counselors will be able to make suggestions based on the type of pet you are looking for and help you find the best fit for your family. Animal House Shelter cannot guarantee the breeds of the adoptable animals. The animals are posted on the website as the breed or breed mix based on their physical characteristics they most resemble.
