Description
Dog Breed: Australian Cattle Dog/Blue Heeler / Mixed (medium coat). Cattle Dog mix female puppy Meet Minnie Cooper Minnie Cooper is a 5-7 week old, 4lb heeler mix found wandering a transient encampment. She came to the rescue from City of Tulare Animal Shelter. Minnie is small, good looking, and built for adventure — this little rescue pup is basically the compact car of your dreams. She has: Low mileage (still a pup!), excellent handling (zoomies included), great on city streets and country roads, runs on toys, snacks, and snuggles Minnie Cooper may be pint-sized, but her personality is turbocharged. She’s brave, curious, and ready to park herself permanently in a forever home that will cherish her. Looking for a copilot who turns every errand into a joyride? Look no further. She is microchipped, on a vaccine schedule, and can go home on a spay contract. Minnie Cooper is in Atascadero, CA More photos and updates: .facebook/.cchdrescue/ search in posts and photo albums. Breed overview
Overview:
A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
