Description
Dog Breed: Pomeranian (long coat). Adoption Fee: $450. Meet Pom Cruise! Just as cool as the actor Tom Cruise—with a little extra spunk and charm—Pom Cruise is a one-year-old Pomeranian who’s ready to find his forever home. This tiny heart-stealer weighs just 7 pounds and is already house-broken, crate-trained, and learning the ropes with leash walking. Pom Cruise was rescued from one of our local shelters and, after some much-needed decompression time, he’s really starting to shine. Pom Cruise does need a little time to warm up to new people and appreciates a slow, gentle introduction. Once he trusts you, though, you’re in—best friends for life. He enjoys the company of other dogs and becomes playful and social once he feels comfortable. Pom Cruise would be a wonderful addition to a patient, loving home that understands that good things are worth the wait. Overview:
The Pomeranian is a vivacious and charming toy breed, originating from the historic region of Pomerania, now part of Poland and Germany. Descended from larger Spitz-type dogs, they were miniaturized over generations, becoming beloved companions. Physically, they are recognizable by their luxurious double coat, often seen in striking shades like orange, cream, or black, and their distinctive foxy face with bright, alert eyes. Despite their small stature, Poms possess a bold and inquisitive temperament; they are intelligent, eager to please, and can be surprisingly independent. They adapt well to apartment living due to their size, though they still benefit from regular walks and mental stimulation. While generally good with older, respectful children, their delicate build makes them more suitable for families who understand their needs. Regarding health, Poms can be prone to patellar luxation, tracheal collapse, and dental issues, emphasizing the importance of responsible breeding and regular veterinary care to ensure a long, happy life.
