Description
Dog Breed: Husky / Labrador Retriever / Mixed (medium coat). Fiona (A140778) is a 9-week-old AK Husky x Lab mix available for adoption! 02/02/26 These adorable pups were surrendered to the shelter in hopes of finding their new places to call home! Their mom was stated to be a Lab x St Bernard mix, and their dad was unknown (however, we suspect that their dad is a Husky mix). Puppies are a lot of work but worth the reward if you have the time to devote to them. They have been working on potty training, but will need continued help in their new home. As they grow, they will also need help with kennel training, basic commands, and continued positive socialization. They have had a great start in foster and have been socialized with kiddos! These pups are teething and should be provided with appropriate toys, so they do not chew on you! Frozen kongs can be a great tool! If you are interested in meeting any of these adorable pups, please let us know!

Breed overview
Overview:
The Labsky, a charming crossbreed of the Labrador Retriever and the Siberian Husky, originated from the desire to combine the best traits of its beloved parent breeds. Physically, they are medium to large dogs, often exhibiting a fascinating blend of features; expect a robust build, varying coat colors and textures (from sleek black to fluffy merle), and captivating eye colors, sometimes even heterochromia. Temperamentally, Labskies are known for being intelligent, energetic, and loyal. They thrive on human companionship and require significant mental and physical stimulation to prevent boredom, making them best suited for active families or individuals with a large, securely fenced yard. Due to their energy levels and potential for vocalization, they are generally not ideal for apartment living. While typically healthy, they can inherit predispositions to conditions seen in their parent breeds, such as hip and elbow dysplasia, eye conditions, and certain skin allergies, so responsible breeding and regular vet check-ups are crucial.
