Description
Dog Breed: Border Collie / Labrador Retriever / Mixed. A HAPPY & LOVING FRIEND: Approx. 3 years old / Approx. 35 lbs. Hi, my name is Beso! I came to Mostly Mutts from animal control. They have been taking great care of me here, and I even got to visit a couple of nice temporary foster homes during the recent snow and ice events, so that was a lot of fun! One of my temporary fosters said I “will make a lucky family a great companion.” I came in with some itchy skin and a little fur loss possibly from a flea allergy so I’m getting medicated baths to help with that. I’m now ready to find a great furever home of my very own – so that the fun can continue! • OTHER DOGS/CATS/KIDS: I got along just great with the dogs I met in both temp. foster homes recently (though I may have mischievously stolen a toy or two, but only in a playful way – lol) , so – if you have a nice dog at home already, let’s meet! / Cats unknown. / I haven’t met kids yet at Mostly Mutts, so let’s meet and best no toddlers that I may bump over. • PERSONALITY/ENERGY LEVEL: Everyone agrees – I am a super sweet guy with a fun and loving personality! My mixed Border Collie breed shines through, as I am a smart boy, too. I’m keen to what is going on in my surroundings and will give ‘bark alerts’ for my family. Though I was initially scared of the bath sprayer for my first bath, I braved my way through and thoroughly enjoyed the rubs and scrubs that brought relief for my itchy skin. What a handsome boy I will be when my fur finishes growing back in! A total love bug, I am ready to be your loyal lap dog – yep, all 35 lbs. of me – lol. You are sure to love my friendly disposition – with people and fur friends alike. / My energy level is 6-8, so let’s be active and have fun together. • SKILLS/CRATE/POTTY: I am a student in the Mostly Mutts University training program, where I look forward to learning lots of great commands with my trainer. I was familiar with the ‘sit’ command in both of my temp. foster homes and had good leash manners. Check back soon to see my progress. / My crate manners are good at Mostly Mutts, and – though not crated in one temp. foster home, I slept through the night nicely in a crate in the other. / I’ve had good potty habits at the shelter and in both temp. foster homes. • LIKES/DISLIKES: My Mostly Mutts name fits me well, as ‘beso’ means ‘kiss’ in Spanish, and I love to give lots of them! I’m also a big fan of Nylabones and STRONG chew toys. Treats? Yes, please. I also enjoy my walks and being near my people. Giving affection and making you smile – those are my favorite things! / I can’t think of any dislikes, though I’m sure I wouldn’t like it if I didn’t get enough love, attention, exercise, and training. • MEDICAL: I'm current on annual vaccinations, micro-chipped and neutered. I am continuing with medicated baths for a bit longer and these can be done in my new home. I am looking for a wonderful home with a loving family! My adoption fee is $299.00, and I’m located in Kennesaw, Ga.

Breed overview
Overview:
The Borador, a delightful cross between the intelligent Border Collie and the friendly Labrador Retriever, is a relatively new designer breed gaining popularity. Originating from the desire to blend the best traits of both parents, Boradors typically inherit a medium build, often with the Labrador's strong frame and the Collie's agile grace. Their coat can vary widely in color and texture, from short and dense to medium-length and feathery, usually requiring moderate grooming. Temperamentally, they are known for being loyal, energetic, and highly trainable, making them excellent companions for active families. They thrive in environments where they receive plenty of physical and mental stimulation, making them less suitable for small apartment living unless daily exercise is guaranteed. While generally healthy, potential owners should be aware of predispositions to conditions seen in their parent breeds, such as hip and elbow dysplasia or certain eye conditions, underscoring the importance of responsible breeding practices.
