This low to medium-energy pup enjoys short runs and walks but is equally happy entertaining herself with a good snuffle mat. Jody is self-sufficient and easygoing, so she would do well in nearly any home looking for a calm, adaptable companion. Jody plays well with other dogs but is selective about her friends. She tolerates enthusiastic invitations from other pups and adjusts accordingly, so she'd be fine with or without a canine sibling. Her gentle hound disposition will likely do well with children in the home. Jody loves sniffing for treats in her snuffle mats and stays vigilant for squirrels during her walks around the neighborhood! Jody is a smart, well-mannered girl. She is fully crate trained and house trained. Jody is crated throughout the day and overnight without any issues and has had zero accidents since coming north. She walks nicely on leash and enjoys exploring the world around her. This loving, self-sufficient girl is ready to bring calm and joy to her forever home. Could she be the one for you? A mongrel, mutt, or mixed-breed dog, is a dog that is not the result of breeding within an existing breed or to modify or create a breed and belongs to no breed. In the United States, the term "mixed-breed" is a favored synonym over "mongrel" among many who wish to avoid negative connotations associated with the latter term. The implication that such dogs must be a mix of defined breeds may stem from an inverted understanding of the origins of dog breeds. Pure breeds have been, for the most part, artificially created from random-bred populations by human selective breeding with the purpose of enhancing desired physical, behavioral, or temperamental characteristics. Dogs that are not purebred are not necessarily a mix of such defined breeds. Therefore, among experts and fans of such dogs, "Mongrel" is still the preferred term.
