Description
Dog Breed: Chihuahua / Dachshund / Mixed (medium coat). Adoption Fee: 375.. It's tiiiime! Time for what? Time to find homes for some of mama Lacey's Sweet Treat Litter. Lacey gave birth to 5 adorable pups on December 13 and the three biggest pups, Figgy Pudding (female), Cookie Dough (male) and Sugarplum (female) are ready for homes. 15 pound Mama Lacey appears to be a longhaired Chiweenie (Chihuahua/Dachshund) and already has a wonderful home lined up. We suspect 17 pound chiweenie Leon, who was surrendered with Lacey, is the daddy to a few of the pups, but we suspect there is at least one other daddy in the mix. Sugarplum and Eclair look like Leon, Churro looks like his mama and Sugar Plum and Cookie Dough are a mystery. The pups are well socialized with other dogs, people and kitties. We believe they will thrive in the companionship of another playful dog of similar size, so preference will be given to apps with another similar-sized dog. We expect Figgy Pudding and Sugar Plum will be in the 18-24 pound range when fully grown and expect Cookie Dough to be in the 16-19 pound range. Cookie Dough is both an intense observer and an active athlete. He loves to rough house, hop, and play. Could likely thrive with agility training. He's c onfident meeting other dogs and is quick to want to make friends with both dogs and people. Cookie Dough is highly intelligent and always on the move, high energy. Absolutely gorgeous tri color markings. If you are interested in adopting one of the Sweet Treats, please fill out a dog adoption application at dreamhouserescue. The puppies are private meet only, they will not be attending adoption events. Check the comments section for some additional photos of the cuteness! The Sweet Treat Puppies will go to furever homes on an extended trial basis, their adoptions will be finalized when all of the vetting covered by their adoption fee is completed. The pups must go to homes in the greater Cincinnati area in order to complete their vetting. We only adopt dogs into homes where all current dogs and cats are spayed/neutered and current on vaccines and heartworm and flea and tick prevention. We do check veterinary references to make sure adopters are compliant with standard veterinary care. Our adoptable dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm tested, dewormed and current on flea and tick and heartworm prevention.

Breed overview
Overview:
The Chiweenie, an adorable and increasingly popular designer breed, is a delightful cross between the spirited Chihuahua and the charming Dachshund. Originating in the United States, these small companions inherited a unique blend of traits from their parent breeds. Physically, they typically possess a long, low body reminiscent of the Dachshund, combined with the often-large ears and expressive eyes of the Chihuahua. Their coats can vary widely in color and texture, from short and smooth to long and wiry. Temperamentally, Chiweenies are known for being loyal, affectionate, and surprisingly energetic. They often exhibit a playful and sometimes stubborn streak, making early socialization and training beneficial. Their small size makes them well-suited for apartment living and families with older children or individuals seeking a devoted lapdog. While generally robust, potential health considerations include issues common to their parent breeds, such as patellar luxation and intervertebral disc disease, making regular veterinary check-ups important for their long-term well-being.
