Dog Breed: Labrador Retriever / Rottweiler / Mixed. Skye is a sweet, curious cuddle-bug who loves being close to her people. She has a gentle, affectionate personality and is happiest when she’s snuggled up after a little playtime. Before bed, she especially enjoys some contact cuddles before settling nicely into her kennel for the night. This smart girl already knows “sit” and is learning “down” and “come,” showing how eager she is to connect and learn. Her potty training is going very well, with some days already accident-free, and she has no accidents in her kennel overnight. She’s even learning to signal when she needs to go out by placing her paws near the door. Recently, she has started sleeping through the night from 10pm–6am like a champ! Skye enjoys rope toys, tug, and especially loves carrying sticks around outside like prized treasures. She has a playful side but also knows how to relax, making her a wonderful balance of fun and calm. She has been fostered with a cat and is friendly and curious, showing interest in play while also responding well to gentle correction and respecting boundaries. When meeting new dogs, she may be a little shy at first, but once she feels comfortable, her playful personality shines through. With her loving heart, growing confidence, and adorable curiosity, Skye is sure to bring so much joy to her future family. This pup was rescued from a high kill shelter in Texas. Approved Applicants may make the adoption fee payment by clicking donate above. Partial adoption fees will not hold a dog. If upon meeting the dog of your choosing at your scheduled pickup time you find that you aren't a good match, your deposit will be fully refunded. Adoption fees include vaccines up until time of adoption, microchip, spay/neuter and 1st 30 days of free pet insurance. We are not affiliated with MetLife pet insurance. (you have to sign up for the insurance or it will not go into effect). Adoption fees help cover the medical care of the animals while he or she waits for a new home, as well as food and transportation costs. These fees help to provide care for the other animals in the shelter or rescue group who may have medical bills that are much higher than any possible adoption fee. The money also acts as a donation to help support the organization as a whole, allowing the group to continue its efforts to rescue and rehome pets. The dogs in our care are fostered in Colorado, Texas, and New Mexico. While all dogs are picked up during our scheduled times, sometimes transport dates change due to unforeseen circumstances.
