Description
Dog Breed: French Bulldog (short coat). Bubba was born about October 16, 2020 and weighs about 30 lbs. He is the most adorable grey and white boy that loves everyone and everything! Yes, he's good with other dogs (as long as they don't mind all the sniffing), cats and kids of all ages. He is said to be house trained and good on leash. It seems he may need a leash or fenced yard since he may casually wander off (not very quickly) if you are not watching closely, he does love to lounge on the grass in the summer. Bubba cannot go on long walks as, typical of his breed, his snout is so short it can cause problems and because he doesn't pick up his feet and sometimes his nails will bleed. He is very good in the car and enjoys baths. We love that he isn't a barker. Bubba will suckle soft toys or a blanket, but he's never eaten something he should not have. He was described to us as chill and he loves to nap. Bubba is fine about his crate and if he has to potty when in it he will scratch the door to let you know. However, he will not go outside when it's raining, maybe a raincoat would help? He also loves carrots! Bubba is fine about car rides, but it's really funny when he gets out as he seems to have forgotten how to walk, but he catches on quickly. He is with us because the lady who loved him dearly could no longer manage his allergies and knew he needed more. We are hopeful we can manage the issue and make him more comfortable and then find him a new, forever, home to carry on where we leave off. Oh, we are told that he makes odd little grunts and "purrs" and he farts a lot! The Adoption Fee for this dog is $__TBD______. Adoptions fees vary based on adoptability. Overview:
The French Bulldog, affectionately known as a "Frenchie," is a charming and compact companion breed originating from England, later popularized in France during the 19th century. Known for their distinctive "bat ears" and sturdy, muscular build, they possess a short, smooth coat that comes in various colors and patterns. Despite their somewhat serious expression, Frenchies boast an incredibly affectionate and playful temperament, making them excellent companions for individuals and families alike. Their relatively low exercise requirements and adaptability make them particularly well-suited for apartment living. However, prospective owners should be aware of their susceptibility to certain health considerations, including breathing difficulties due to their brachycephalic (short-nosed) structure, as well as spinal issues and skin allergies. With proper care and attention, a French Bulldog can bring years of joy and loving companionship.
