Dog Breed: Poodle (Toy) / Mixed (medium coat). Snapdragon is a cute boy who is looking for a new home. He is currently with one of our sister rescues in Louisiana but hoping to come to NJ soon with an approved foster or adopter. This tiny 9-pound toy poodle has the sweetest little underbite and the most hopeful heart. Snapdragon is about 2–3 years old and came to us from a backyard breeding situation where dogs were treated more like livestock than beloved companions. He wasn’t exposed to the warmth and attention every dog deserves — but he’s learning now, and it’s beautiful to watch. Snapdragon is friendly and allows himself to be handled. He doesn’t mind being picked up, and he isn’t snappy — he’s simply figuring out this big, new world one gentle step at a time. With other dogs, he absolutely lights up! He gets the cutest zoomies in the yard, trying to play with everyone. It’s like watching joy unfold in real time. He would thrive in a home (or foster home) that can give him a little one-on-one attention and patience as he continues building confidence. He’s not a “project” — he’s a little guy who just needs consistency, kindness, and someone cheering him on. And truly, he is doing great. Snapdragon isn’t a lost cause — he’s a fresh start. Snapdragon is fixed, microchipped and up to date on vaccines. His adoption fee is $450. Adopting a dog is a commitment that will require annual veterinary care at a minimum, training, exercise, enrichment, etc. Pet care is not cheap or easy and adopters should consider the costs, time and training prior to adoption.
